Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge.
Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge. There is a trail in the gorge, but we didn't have time for that. So we stopped along the road above and followed the path passed the Church of Saint Nicholas down to a beautiful view of the waterfall.

Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras...
Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras Gorge to Kourtaliotiko gorge, city is small and quite. Beaches in city itself not seems are extraordinary, they have many rocks, but on the left end is there a nudist beach

Plakias has a nice village feel with nice beach's and plenty of tavernas, supermarket's, bakers and butchers, all within easy walking distance. We found the food at Antoni's Place was excellent and staff very helpful.

Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing.
Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing. As we were half board we didn't try many of the bars/restaurants on offer. We were going to go on a boat trip but one of our daughters was ill so we had to abandon that idea. My other daughter and I did visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge and waterfall which was amazing and we made it to Souda beach on the last day which had lovely clear water. We had a car so we could travel around. I personally think that is an essential if you want to explore the area as it takes a while to drive anywhere as the roads are quite small and bendy!STEPHENUnited Kingdom

Very good beaches are few km away. Our host met us a provided a wonderful welcome with a small bottle of Raki to enjoy on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast was provided at the Blue Cafe next door. A wonderful breakfast omelette and eggs were served with good coffee! Lovely sandy beach with easy access and as a bonus a wheelchair access right into the water! We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

The pool is nice like on the pictures, but not very deep, so it s more for relaxing than swimming, but the sea is really wonderful at Plakias and the surrounding beaches. If you have breakfast you have to go to the hotel, about 10 minutes to walk or you go by car, if you don t want to walk. Breakfast was really tasty. I can recommend this accomodation; if you have a car it s perfect to come around everywhere.

The shower room is also spacious compared to the default ones. The kitchen unit has pretty much everything you need. We also liked the proximity to the various beaches and got good hints from the nice host where to dine etc. Parking a car is not a problem and it is for free and there are supermarkets close by.AdnanGermany

The staff were absolutely fantastic with loads of helpful suggestions for where to find great coffee, eat out, beaches to visit etc. The location was easy walking distance to the beach, cafes, bars, shops, restaurants etc. We highly recommend and will definitely book again if we ever come back to Plakias.

The hotel has everything you need, it’s clean and the beds are super comfortable. Above all, we loved the hospitality of Katerina and Fotis- very nice hosts and gave us great tips of where to eat and relax. We would definitely recommend this place!
